FAQ

Your questions Answered

The essentials for your visit and your booking.

Will my class run if only one person is booked?

Classes run with at least 2 participants. If only 1 person is booked, the class will not take place.

Can I lose weight with Reformer Pilates?

Reformer Pilates can be part of an active routine, but it does not guarantee weight loss. Eating habits, overall activity, sleep and health all play a part. Come for movement you enjoy and a routine you can keep. You don’t need to change your body to belong here.

How often should I do Reformer Pilates?

Start with a schedule you can keep. One or two classes a week can be a practical starting point, depending on your experience, recovery and other activities. Build gradually and ask your instructor for guidance. Consistency beats an ambitious plan you never enjoy.

Is Reformer Pilates good for back problems?

Some people with persistent lower back pain benefit from appropriately adapted exercise. That does not mean every Reformer Pilates class suits every back condition. Our group classes are not medical treatment. Ask your doctor or physiotherapist about suitability and tell us about pain or limitations before booking. Stop if an exercise causes pain.

Which is better: mat classes or Reformer Pilates?

Neither wins for everyone. Mat classes use your body weight and sometimes props. Reformer Pilates adds adjustable spring resistance and support. Your goals, the teaching and what you enjoy matter more than choosing a winner. They can complement each other.

Reformer Pilates or yoga?

Both can involve breath, concentration and controlled movement. Yoga varies widely and may include poses, meditation and a broader philosophical practice. Reformer Pilates centres on movement using the Reformer’s springs and carriage. Try what interests you. You don’t have to choose just one.

Reformer Pilates or the gym?

A gym can offer weights, cardio and independent training. Our Reformer Pilates classes offer a guided session with spring resistance, control and personal attention in a small group. They can work well alongside each other. Choose the mix that fits your goals and keeps you coming back.

What is the best Reformer Pilates studio in Vienna?

The best studio for you is one where the teaching, atmosphere and schedule fit. Hear from our community, read our Eversports reviews or explore 1000things’ Vienna studio selection, which includes Reformer Sessions. The article may show older prices. Our current offers are here.

Can I attend during pregnancy?

Our group classes are not open to new participants during pregnancy. An exception may be considered if you were already an experienced member of our community before pregnancy and have medical clearance specifically for Reformer Pilates. Please contact us before booking so we can discuss suitability with your instructor.

When can I return after giving birth?

There is no single date that suits everyone. Your recovery and the type of birth matter. Before returning to a group Reformer Pilates class, ask your doctor or a qualified pelvic health physiotherapist about your readiness, then contact us to find a suitable class. Ease back in. There’s nothing to prove.

Can I use a Reformer if I have a larger body?

You don’t need a particular body shape to belong here. Reformers do have manufacturer weight limits, and a comfortable setup matters. If you’re unsure, contact us privately before booking. We’ll check the Reformer at your chosen studio and talk through suitable options with you.

Can men join too?

Absolutely. Reformer Pilates is for men too. Strength, control and a fresh challenge are for everyone. Choose a class that suits your experience and come as you are.

Is there an upper age limit?

Age alone doesn’t tell us which class is right for you. Your mobility, experience and any health considerations matter too. If you’re unsure, contact us before booking so we can discuss the class format and the support you need.

Is a class very hard? How tiring is it?

Expect 55 minutes of focused movement and a challenge you can make your own. Intensity varies by class and experience. Your instructor can suggest variations, and breaks are always welcome. Those small movements can surprise you. Pain is a signal to stop and tell your instructor.

What is the difference between Reformer Pilates and a mat class?

Mat classes use a mat, your body weight and sometimes small props. Reformer Pilates adds a moving carriage, springs and straps. The springs can support a movement or make it more demanding. Neither is automatically easier: the exercises and teaching make the difference.

Do you offer beginner classes and an intro pack?

Yes. Look for Beginner Sessions or a class marked suitable for beginners in our timetable. Our intro offer is 3 classes for €59. Check availability and the offer conditions in Eversports. Arrive 10 minutes early for your first class and we’ll introduce you to the Reformer.

What qualifications do your instructors have?

Each instructor has their own education and experience. Want to know about a particular Pilates trainer’s Reformer Pilates qualifications or specialist training? Ask us before you book and we’ll share their background. You can see who is teaching each class in Eversports.

Why does a class cost this much?

You’re booking 55 minutes with a dedicated Reformer, a maximum of 8 people and an instructor who can notice your technique and guide you personally. Our studios have Merrithew Reformers, props and air conditioning. Class packs and memberships offer different ways to build your routine. Compare your options.

Who created Reformer Pilates?

Joseph Pilates developed the method he called Contrology and designed the Reformer. Today, Reformer Pilates builds on that foundation through both classical and contemporary approaches.

What is Reformer Pilates?

Reformer Pilates combines controlled movement and breath on a Reformer: a sliding carriage with adjustable springs and straps. The springs add resistance or support as you work on strength, control and mobility. New to it? We’ll show you the ropes. And the springs.

How much do Reformer Pilates classes in Vienna cost?

Our introductory offer is 3 classes for €59. A single session is €29; monthly memberships start at €100 for 4 sessions. See all prices, class packs and membership terms.

Where are your Reformer Pilates studios in Vienna?

Do unused membership sessions expire?

Your unused membership sessions carry over while your membership is active. Giving cancellation notice does not make them expire immediately: you can use them until your membership actually ends. At that point, all unused membership sessions expire and cannot be used afterwards. Separately purchased single sessions and class packs have their own expiry dates, shown in Eversports before purchase.

Is Reformer Pilates suitable for beginners in Vienna?

Yes. You can start Reformer Pilates at Reformer Sessions in Vienna without any previous Reformer Pilates experience. Choose a class suitable for beginners in our Eversports timetable. Your instructor will show you the Reformer, explain the movements and help you find your pace. Not sure which end is which? You are in good company. Everyone has a first class. Read our first visit guide to get comfortable before you arrive.

Can I use my membership at every studio?

Yes! Nestroyplatz, DC and Q19 from opening day. Choose your studio in Eversports each time you book. One membership, more ways to find your rhythm.

How many people are in a Reformer Pilates class?

A maximum of 8 people, each with their own Reformer. Shared energy, with time for personal guidance and those little adjustments that make a difference.

Are your Reformer Pilates classes in Vienna in English?

Yes, our classes are in English. Some instructors also speak German. Speak only a little of either? Let us know. Your instructor demonstrates the movements and helps you follow along.

Prefer another language? Write to us and we’ll check whether someone on our team speaks it.

What should I bring to my first Reformer Pilates class?

Wear comfortable clothes you can move in. A fitted top and leggings help us see your alignment, but choose what feels good. Grip socks are required and available to buy at the studio. Pick your favourite colour.

Water and glasses are provided. Arrive 10 minutes early for your first class so we can show you around.

How do I book, pay and choose my Reformer?

Book and pay through Eversports on our booking page. Choose your studio, class and an available Reformer. By the window? Close to the mirror? A little nearer the air conditioning? Pick your favourite spot when it is available. We know a favourite Reformer is a thing. Your booking and payment are managed in your Eversports account.

Do I need to be fit or confident in my body to start Reformer Pilates?

No perfect outfit, fitness level or body type required. Choose a class suitable for beginners and come as you are.

Everyone has a first session. Take breaks, ask questions and enjoy your own progress. We’re here to cheer you on, not compare you with anyone else.

What if I need to cancel?

Please cancel through Eversports at least 24 hours before your class starts. For cancellations within 24 hours, the late cancellation terms shown in Eversports apply.
